Shell Partners in Safety programs service - TQC

PHASE 1 – Background and Office preparation

a) We guide your office responsible personnel in preparing and gathering the necessary package material for the on-board implementation of the SHELL Partners in Safety Training program including the relevant Resilience / Learning Engagement Tool and Learning from incidents modules. During this process we shall guide you in:

  • Gathering necessary material to be forwarded to the vessels and the manning agents.
  • Preparing a training schedule for the vessels and manning agents, relative instructions and the respective training reporting system.

b) We prepare a Training Session which will introduce your office personnel in the SHELL Partners in Safety culture and will familiarize them in the relevant parts of the program. The training program will be focusing in training and preparing your office personnel in facilitating and implementing the SHELL Partners in Safety program on board.

The training session will cover the following subjects:

  • Partners in Safety program and requirements / goals.
  • Introduction to the concept of resilience.
  • What is Reflective Learning and Overview on Reflective Learning modules.
  • Overview on the Learning Engagement Tool (LET).
  • Running the Introduction to resilience module.
  • Running a selected LFI module.
  • Running a Reflective Learning module.
  • On board Shell verification requirements.
  • Implementation requirements and company-across program.
  • Action to be taken.

The service will take place on board your vessels and will be coordinated by our Trainer – Supervisor. A group of people discusses a real case study which has led to high consequence outcomes. Main aim is to encourage the group to embed learnings from incidents through open dialogue.

Moreover, trainees discuss their experiences on various topics which relate to vessels’ daily operations (such as engine failures, moorings, lifeboat operations) in order to gain a better understanding on important issues which may happen in the future and thus improve employees’ and crew’s preventive attitude and reactions to potential incidents.
