Environmental Management systems - ISO 14001 - TQC


Environmental Management Systems can be based on various standards.

Although the ISO 14001 standard sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and can be certified to it, nevertheless it does not set requirements for environmental performance, but maps out a framework that a company or organization can adapt and follow to set up an effective environmental management system. It can be used by any organization regardless of its activity or sector.

However additional more specific provisions can be added by incorporating other standards such as:

  • TMSA 3 – Element 10
  • USCG ECP, in line with the specific provisions set within the ECP
