The 7th edition of the Vessel Inspection Questionnaire (VIQ7) was launched on 17 September 2018 and several vessel inspections have already been performed in accordance with VIQ7.
OCIMF received reviews, comments and general feedback regarding the questions and the associated guidance notes within VIQ7 and after extensive assessment has proceeded to 31 amendments in VIQ7 which have been consolidated and incorporated in the SIRE editor platforms (online; desktop and mobile versions) used by inspectors.
The aforementioned amendments are mainly changes - for clarity ppurposes - in Inspector Guidance Notes and in order the latter to be in line with Mooring Equipment Guidelines 4th Edition (MEG4), SOLAS New Requirements and other Best Practices such as British Compressed Gases Association Code of Practice CP7.
Tanker Shipmanagement Companies should become familiar with the above revisions and integrate same in their vessels' procedures in order to avoid any complications in forthcoming inspections.
