“MLC 2006: Onboard Audit & Preparation Course”
The final date - 20th of August 2013 - for MLC 2006 certification is 22 weeks away and you have to prepare your vessels.
TQC runs a series of training courses - more than 30 already - from early 2010 with scope:
a. initially to inform you about MLC 2006 and
b. from mid 2012 to prepare you for the Onboard Audit.
TQC has guided more than 70 vessels to MLC 2006 certification and has already prepared more than 50 companies with total fleet of around 300 vessels that will soon be certified for MLC 2006 requirements.

Course Scope

  1. Background of Maritime Labour Convention.
  2. Implementation of MLC 2006.
  3. Preparation of Company & vessel.
  4. Simulation of an MLC Onboard Audit.

Course Objectives

Course delegates shall be:

  • Fully aware of the new ILO MLC 2006 implementation requirements.
  • Able to prepare their company’s management system and ships accordingly.

  • What is the ILO?
  • Introduction to the Maritime Labour Convention 2006.
  • Detailed requirements of Maritime Labour Convention regulations.
  • Compliance & Enforcement process.
  • The Flag & Port State role.
  • Flag State specific implementation and certification requirements (Malta, Greece, Marshall Islands, Liberia, Bahamas, Panama, Cyprus and other Flags)




From 14:00 to 18:00 hrs.

  • Labour Supplying countries status (Philippines States, India, Greece and other), employment agreements and Collective Bargaining agreements.
  • The Gap Analysis process.
  • Company preparation and compliance – Documentation amendments and compliance matrix
  • RPS (Manning Agent) preparation and compliance – Regulation 1.4.
  • Ship preparation and action required on board.
  • On board MLC audit simulation.
  • Certification process and cycle (MLC & DMLC).
  • Shaping overall strategy for your company and ships.
  • Putting the puzzle together.
  • Overall evaluation.
  • Open discussion.


A Certificate of Attendance is provided on completion of the Course.
