The VESSEL GENERAL PERMIT FOR DISCHARGES INCIDENTAL TO THE NORMAL OPERATION OF VESSELS CBT is a software package designed to give you information and details on the new U.S. environmental requirements and the Vessel General Permit. This CBT contains a presentation section, an administration section and an examination section.

The CBT is divided into 8 Chapters. These are:

  • Chapter 01: Introduction
  • Chapter 02: VGP Coverage
  • Chapter 03: Discharge Categories & Related Requirements
  • Chapter 04: Corrective Actions & Noncompliance Reporting
  • Chapter 05: Inspections, Monitoring & Reporting to the EPA

  • Chapter 07: Individual States Requirements
  • Chapter 08: Training Requirements

The user at any time may take the examination which consists of 20 randomly generated questions out of a pool of about 80 total questions.  The exam is based on the contents of the CBT’s presentation and covers all chapters from 1 to 8.

The pass/fail percentage is of the exam is 75% or 15 right answers out of 20.

When the user passes the examination, the certification attestation button is enabled in the “View User” button of the administration panel, so the user may ask the administrator to print a certification attestation.

Be aware that only the last examination score is saved in the user’s current record. (Previous results can be seen in the records section of the View User screen where the previous tests can be seen).

Activation

This software is protected against unauthorized copying. Each CBT copy produces a serial key unique for every PC and requires an activation key in order for the software to operate. The first time you run the program, you will be presented with a window that provides you with a serial number. You will have to provide TQC with that serial in order to obtain an activation code. You can either send it via e-mail at cbt@tqc.gr, or telephone (the company's contact details are written in the activation window). You have to complete the installation and activation procedure as a windows administrator. When you receive the activation key from TQC, type it in the appropriate space, and the software activation will be complete. The activation is a one time procedure for each PC. After the activation the software will run normally. Each CD provided is licensed for one activation only.
